Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, especially with oysters and raw fish preperations along with a strong understanding of food safety practices but it is not necessary in order to apply for the job. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality dishes to our guests in a fine dining environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare raw bar items such as oysters, shrimp, and lobsters.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling techniques and safety protocols.
Uphold high standards of quality control, ensuring that every dish meets our presentation and taste criteria.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not necessary.
Previous experience with raw bar and oyster bar service is preferred but not necessary.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Experience in fine dining settings is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
A passion for cooking and a desire to continually improve culinary skills.
