Full Job Description

Rochester Play! is seeking a Lead Cafe Associate to join our team! The Lead Café Associate is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the café, including checking customers in, the storage and preparation of food, serving customers, and cleaning the Play Center.

What You'll Do:

Assist customers at the counter with both checking in to the Play Center and/or ordering and serving food and beverages.
Serve food and beverages to customers.
Replenish foods at serving stations and prep stations.
Prepare food such as sandwiches, salads, using standard formulas or following directions.
Wrap menu items for serving or for takeout.
Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
Prepare a variety of foods according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
Wash, peel and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
Scrub and polish counter, and other equipment, and fountain equipment.
Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage; ensure that food is properly labeled with spoil dates.
Inform supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly
Assist with cleaning Play Center equipment, seating, and bathrooms areas as necessary.
Serve as a general monitor of activity within the center ensuring that visitors are acting in a safe manner and following general Play Center rules.
Assist with any other activities within the Play Center as necessary, including but not limited to assisting with camps, assisting in the Indoor Play Center, assisting in the Café, etc.

What We Need:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Experience in food service preferred.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to utilize standard office equipment, including telephones, fax machines, computers, registers, etc.
Ability to perform basic math equations that you would encounter in a retail operation (ex: counting change).

Hours/Schedule:

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including the ability to work weekends and/or evenings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
