Customer Service Representative / Accounts Receivable Clerk

Location: Gloucester City, NJ (In-Office)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Gloucester City, NJ. This is a full-time, in-office position where you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers while supporting our Accounts Receivable operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers via phone and email.
Enter new customer orders into the company's ERP/business management system.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, orders, and account information.
Resolve customer concerns and troubleshoot product or service issues.
Update and maintain accurate customer records after each interaction.
Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of company products and services.
Provide professional, courteous, and timely customer support.

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities

Create and distribute customer invoices accurately and promptly.
Apply incoming customer payments to the appropriate accounts.
Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment shortages, and customer account issues.
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous customer service and/or accounts receivable experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
Professional, patient, and customer-focused attitude.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
Comfortable learning and using ERP, accounting, and customer database software.
Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge is a plus.
