Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking an organized, hardworking, and dependable professional to join our team.

Under the general supervision of the Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Technician (Typing) provides a variety of support services to the Records and Reception Unit. The duties and responsibilities include maintaining, tracking, and organizing sensitive employee information and provides general administrative clerical support for the Human Resources Branch (HRB). The incumbent will greet visitors at the public counter, answer telephone calls, schedule appointments for Livescan, and review Official Personnel Folders.

The position(s) being advertised may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resources Branch. Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire. The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a recognized leader in public service and has existed for over 100 years. The DMV is responsible for registering approximately 36 million vehicles in California, and serving 34 million driver license and identification card holders, collecting over $14 billion in annual revenue. The DMV also maintains and oversees many other functions. Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
