Full Job Description

Title: Program Coordinator

Status: Non-exempt, Full-time

Reports to: Executive Administrator of Programs

THE POSITION

The Program Coordinator supports the implementation of PRO Youth’s prevention, wellness, youth development, leadership, and mentoring programs across school and community-based settings. This position coordinates program activities, facilitates curriculum, engages youth and community partners, and supports high-quality program delivery. The Program Coordinator will receive training across PRO Youth’s programs and service models to support consistent implementation, program growth, and organizational priorities. This role requires an adaptable, collaborative, and results-oriented individual who can build strong relationships, manage multiple priorities, and provide engaging, youth-centered programming that promotes wellness, connection, and positive youth development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Wellness & Program Facilitation

Coordinate and facilitate PRO Youth wellness, prevention, leadership, and youth development programs.
Deliver engaging, youth-centered programming that promotes connection, resilience, leadership, and positive decision-making.
Create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments using culturally responsive, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and social-emotional learning practices.
Support youth development through communication, teamwork, empathy, self-awareness, problem-solving, and leadership opportunities.
Facilitate interactive activities, workshops, and youth engagement experiences that encourage youth voice and participation. Student Engagement & Community Partnerships
Build and maintain positive relationships with youth, school staff, families, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with schools and community organizations to support effective program implementation and participant engagement.
Represent PRO Youth at meetings, trainings, events, and community partnerships.
Support participant recruitment, enrollment, engagement, and retention efforts.

Program Implementation & Quality Improvement

Support the implementation of multiple PRO Youth programs and service models through training, preparation, and effective delivery.
Prepare curriculum materials, lesson plans, activities, and program resources.
Monitor program participation, engagement, outcomes, and overall program quality.
Assist with evaluation activities including surveys, data collection, attendance tracking, documentation, and reporting.
Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen program implementation, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational goals.

Administrative

Maintain accurate program calendars, records, and documentation.
Maintain timely communication through Teams, email, calendars, and agency systems.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with agency, district, and privacy requirements.
Support special projects, events, and other organizational priorities as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, psychology, public health, youth development, or a related field preferred. For some programmatic sites, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational qualifications may be required.
Candidates who are actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree and are close to completion will be considered.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting youth programs, community-based services, education, prevention, wellness, or related programming preferred.
Experience working in prevention, behavioral health, youth services, or community-based programs.
Experience working in both policy-driven and site-based program environments.

General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Engage youth, adults, and facilitate groups in a supportive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate manner.
Learn and effectively implement multiple curricula, program models, and service approaches.
Build and maintain positive relationships with youth, schools, community partners, and internal teams.
Exercise sound judgment, creative problem-solving, and adaptability in changing environments.
Manage multiple projects, priorities, timelines, and program responsibilities with limited supervision.
Work independently, initiate tasks, identify needs, and follow through on program goals.
Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Analyze situations, identify solutions, and take appropriate action based on program goals and established procedures.
Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and self-direction.
Apply critical thinking and decision-making skills to support effective program implementation.
Bilingual skills preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Capable of providing Employment Eligibility Verification.
Complete and pass background screening.
Possess a Valid California Driver's license and evidence of insurance coverage.
Maintain access to reliable transportation for daily regional travel to program sites.
Regular TB screening.
This role qualifies as a mandated reporter, training for which will be provided.

This is sedentary work in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, talk, hear, reach above and below shoulders; use hand/finger dexterity, keyboarding and making and receiving telephone calls. The employee may be required on occasion to lift and or carry up to 25 lbs.
The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

LOCATION AND HOURS

Our typical business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. This position requires flexibility to meet organizational needs. Availability outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required to support operations, events, or urgent matters.

This position is based in our Sacramento offices with an expectation of regular in-person presence to support our team, operations, and program development.
