Kitchen Manager / Culinary Professional

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Pay: $32.00–$35.00 per hour
Location: In person

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Culinary Professional with Kitchen Management experience to oversee food service for our residential treatment facility. Our program operates across three residential locations serving approximately 18–22 residents, with meals provided seven days a week.

The ideal candidate is a reliable, organized, and skilled culinary professional who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious, delicious, and appealing meals. This position requires someone who can balance hands-on food preparation with kitchen management, inventory control, budgeting, and day-to-day operational responsibilities.

Because our residents are newly in recovery, we are looking for someone who understands the importance of creating a clean, welcoming, and positive meal experience while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries within a residential treatment environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, whole-food, nutritious meals for residents.
Follow menus designed by leadership while incorporating appropriate culinary creativity and variety.
Manage food service across all three residential locations.
Maintain and monitor food inventory at each location.
Develop and implement an organized, reliable inventory management and ordering process.
Track food usage, minimize waste, and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Work within an established food budget and make cost-conscious purchasing decisions.
Coordinate grocery and food purchasing for all locations.
Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food-storage areas.
Follow all applicable food-safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Ensure meals are prepared consistently, on schedule, and to a high standard.
Maintain appropriate food-storage, labeling, and rotation practices.
Communicate effectively with leadership regarding menus, inventory, purchasing, and kitchen needs.
Help establish and maintain efficient kitchen systems and procedures.

Qualifications

Professional culinary training; culinary school education strongly preferred.
Previous kitchen management or supervisory experience required.
Demonstrated experience preparing fresh, whole-food meals in a professional setting.
Strong organizational and inventory-management skills.
Ability to manage food purchasing and stay within budget.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of kitchen operations.
Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation.
Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
Professional communication skills and the ability to work respectfully around individuals in recovery.
Ability to work effectively across multiple residential locations.
Must be comfortable working in a clean, sober, non-smoking residential treatment environment.
