Assistant Video Editor Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Video Editor to join our growing media and marketing team. This role will focus on editing content for a variety of clients across social media platforms and long-form content channels. The ideal candidate is highly organized, understands current social media trends, and can adapt editing styles based on each client’s brand and audience.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about content creation, storytelling, and digital media.

Responsibilities

Edit both short-form and long-form video content for clients
Create engaging social media videos optimized for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook
Assist with editing YouTube videos, podcasts, interviews, vlogs, and promotional content
Understand the difference in pacing, hooks, transitions, and storytelling between short-form and long-form content
Organize footage, audio, graphics, and project files efficiently
Add captions, sound effects, music, transitions, and basic motion graphics when needed
Collaborate with the creative team to maintain brand consistency across client content
Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at once
Stay up to date with social media trends and editing styles

Qualifications

Experience using editing software such as CapCut and Final Cut Pro
Strong understanding of social media content and viral-style editing
Ability to edit for multiple brands and adapt to different aesthetics
Knowledge of pacing, retention editing, and audience engagement techniques
Strong communication and time management skills
Ability to take feedback and make revisions efficiently
Portfolio or examples of previous editing work required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience editing UGC, podcasts, vlogs, or business marketing content
Basic graphic design or motion graphics experience
Familiarity with content strategy and social media trends
