Full Job Description

Legal Assistant – Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense

Seeking an experienced **Legal Assistant** to support one of our **Equity Partners** in our Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense practice.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of Florida Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense experience** and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and case management skills who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

* Provide direct legal and administrative support to an Equity Partner.

* Prepare pleadings, correspondence, motions, notices, and other legal documents.

* Draft and respond to discovery requests.

* Prepare subpoenas and coordinate service.

* Maintain and organize electronic client files.

* Manage attorney calendars, hearings, depositions, and deadlines (as back-up).

* Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, judges' offices, medical providers, and court personnel.

* Assist with case management from inception through resolution.

* Ensure compliance with firm procedures and client reporting requirements.

Qualifications

* Minimum **2–3 years of Florida Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense legal assistant experience** required.

* Thorough knowledge of Florida Workers' Compensation procedures and terminology.

* Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.

* Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Technology Requirements

Candidates should be proficient with:

* Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

* Windows-based software

* Paperless ("green") document management systems

**Preferred Experience**

* Aderant Total Office (ATO)
