Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Jacksonville, Florida. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented candidate who can manage period-end activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to a well-controlled accounting environment. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and comfort working across systems to keep reporting and reconciliations on track.

Responsibilities:

Lead monthly and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is recorded accurately.
Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a recurring basis and investigate variances to resolution.
Perform bank reconciliations and verify cash activity to support accurate reporting.
Review accounting data for completeness and consistency across financial records and supporting documentation.
Utilize Sage 100, Paycor, and cloud-based ERP tools to process transactions and maintain accounting workflows.
Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve the accuracy of financial data.
At least 5 years of accounting experience, including work at the senior accountant level.
Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.
Strong background in account reconciliations and bank reconciliation processes.
Hands-on experience using Sage 100, Paycor, and cloud ERP platforms.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal control practices.
High level of accuracy, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
