Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time, detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction industry, and working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, assisting with payroll, and supporting the day-to-day accounting and administrative functions of the company. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with construction accounting, union reporting, and QuickBooks Desktop is strongly preferred.

This is a full-time position with benefits.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, collections, and account follow-up.
Perform bank and account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
Assist with budgeting and provide financial information as needed for management.
Prepare financial and accounting reports for management review.
Process and accurately record transactions using QuickBooks Desktop.
Maintain proper documentation of debits, credits, payments, deposits, and other financial transactions.
Prepare and file monthly union reports and process payment of union fringe benefits and dues.
Prepare and process weekly payroll using QuickBooks Desktop.
Assist with construction-related accounting and documentation as needed.
Maintain organized financial and administrative records.
Provide general bookkeeping and administrative support.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits.
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop strongly preferred.
Construction industry accounting or bookkeeping experience strongly preferred.
Experience working with union payroll, union reporting, fringe benefits, or similar construction-related requirements is preferred.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll.
Strong data-entry and 10-key skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, employees, and management.
