Staff Accountant

Summary of Responsibilities

Staff accountants are primarily supervised and work directly with supervisors, senior accountants, or other staff accountants. Team members must:

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (a CPA or eligibility to sit is highly desirable).
Have a basic understanding of general accounting and willingness to comprehend auditing procedures
Have a basic understanding of financial statements
Have exceptional communication skills and demonstrate an ability to communicate with individuals at various levels of the firm and clients.
Be able to work with audit teams to identify and resolve client issues discovered during audit process.
Have the ability to research and analyze financial statements and audit- and tax-related issues utilizing electronic databases, and employ audit software to review and compile financial information.
Be able to perform bookkeeping and payroll services for clients.
Maintain a good working relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform accounting and/or audit services.
Proactively interact with clients to gather information, resolve accounting and audit-related problems, and summarize recommendations for improvements.
Be able to gain an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements.
Be organized and demonstrate an ability to perform multiple tasks.
Be knowledgeable of various accounting software and firm technology, including Microsoft Office applications.
Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,100.00 - $75,000.00 per year
