In this position, you'll perform advanced technical work involving the recognition, documentation, collection, preservation, processing, storage, and disposition of physical and digital evidence. From processing crime scenes and managing evidence to latent print development, forensic photography, digital evidence management, and courtroom testimony, you'll help ensure every investigation is supported by accurate, reliable, and professionally handled evidence.
You'll work alongside patrol officers, detectives, prosecutors, medical examiners, forensic laboratories, and partner agencies while maintaining compliance with department policies, Florida Statutes, CJIS requirements, and recognized forensic best practices.

The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects up to 25-50 pounds and climbs ladders.
The employee will also work at crime scenes, outdoors, and occasionally in cold, extreme heat, or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, contagious or infectious diseases, decompose and irritating chemicals. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

Required to work 40 hours per week but must have the ability to work irregular
hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and work extended periods on an as
needed basis. -
Must be able to provide 24/7 availability to crime scenes and calls for service.

Must be able to work in an indoor office setting, a controlled laboratory setting, and outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.

May be occasionally required to work in hazardous environments.
