Full Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for daily operation of the clinic office relating to patient care and assistance of the providers in both history taking as well as assisting in clinical procedures. Strong knowledge and use of an EHR program is required, preferably Allscripts, however other EHR program use will be accepted. The individual performing these tasks must be detail orientation and possess the ability to follow instruction and communicate feedback to supervisor

Specific Duties include:

Logging into the EHR and collecting patient history and entering accurately into the EHR.
Helping room patients and assisting with clinical collection of data, including Urinalysis, bladder scans
Catheterization of both male and female patients including supra pubic catheter changes
Assisting with cystoscopy including prepping patient, obtaining informed consent, assisting provider with procedure and possible stent removal.
Proper cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment and cystoscopy equipment
Wound care including suture and staple removal, nephrostomy tube removal. Dressing of surgical incision.
Assist with reviewing of lab and x-ray results, and notifying patients of the results
Assist with preoperative clearance for patients
Entering of preoperative orders within the health records systems
Assist with triage of phone calls with front office staff and development of clinical pathways
Cleaning of rooms and equipment between patients to a medical standard of care
Aide in the ordering and stocking of supplies.
Aide in oversight of the MA staff
Assist in developing protocols for infection control
Involved in safety and culture of safety parameters as well as quality assurance program development
Involved in implementation of LEAN or six sigma processes or equivalent
Trouble shoot issues as they arise in clinical areas and develop plan solution for problems
Report directly to the office manager with any issues or concerns
Assist the providers in any areas where they may need help.
Be part of a growing practice that is quality and patient focused
Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of respecting the Privacy and Confidentiality of those we serve
Demonstrates knowledge and respects patient, service provider, organizational confidentiality and HIPAA Security procedures and protocols as defined under the HIPAA Privacy and Security Procedures
Follows established HIPAA privacy procedures when using and/or disclosing protected health information.
