Full Job Description

About the Position

I'm a single mom with a demanding career looking for a warm, reliable, and organized nanny/housekeeper to help my household run smoothly. This is a hybrid role: part of your time is spent caring for and driving my 12-year-old daughter to her after-school activities, and part is spent keeping the house clean and stocked — laundry, groceries, tidying, and errands. A few times a month you'll also cover overnight stays when I'm traveling. I'm looking for someone who wants a steady, long-term position and who I can treat as a trusted, respected part of our household. My daughter is very responsible. She warms up to nannies who are fun and playful with her and who treat her more like an adult.

Schedule

32–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Typical hours run from early/mid-afternoon through evening
Exact daily hours vary day-to-day based on my daughter's after-school activity schedule
Approximately 2 overnight stays per month when I'm traveling (additional overnight stipend — see Compensation)

What You'll Do

Pick up my daughter from school and drive her to after-school activities (sports, lessons, appointments) using a reliable vehicle
Provide companionship for a 12-year-old
Keep the home clean and organized: regular cleaning, tidying, and light housekeeping throughout common living areas
Do my laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away (my daughter does her own)
Handle weekly grocery shopping and keep the kitchen and household supplies stocked
Run errands as needed (pharmacy, returns, dropping off/picking up items)
Stay overnight when I'm out of town
Communicate proactively about my daughter's schedule, any household needs, or supply low points
Bonus: Ability to cook healthy meals

What I'm Looking For

Required

Experience and enjoyment in caring for adolescents
Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a reliable, insured vehicle (if vehicle is an issue, I may consider buying one)
Comfortable being solely responsible for a 12-year-old, including overnight
Strong housekeeping habits — comfortable with the full range of everyday household tasks
Reliable, punctual, and communicative; able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
Willing to complete a background check and provide 2–3 references

Compensation

Hourly rate $22–$25/hour, depending on experience and capabilities

$100 overnight stipend

Mileage reimbursement - IRS standard rate (72.5¢/mile, current 2026 rate) if using own vehicle for driving

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
