Experienced Legal Specialist (Legal Administrative Assistant)

Haws-KM, P.A. is seeking a Legal Specialist with a minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience for a position in a private practice setting focusing on defense, toxic tort litigation and personal injury.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

Prior experience in law firm handling civil litigation matters and filing documents via court platforms
Comfortability with technology, and the ability to learn new software quickly
Proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel, document management and docketing software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to anticipate and meet deadlines
The ability to take direction, prioritize, and work independently
The ability to adapt to change
The ability to work effectively in a team environment
A desire to handle a variety of different tasks in a busy firm environment
Capacity to manage large volumes of documents
A strong work ethic
Professional demeanor

Position Details

This position is responsible for a wide variety of support tasks for attorneys and paralegals. Key duties include but are not limited to:

Filing and serving documents utilizing various court platforms
Uploading documents to client portals
Entering deadlines and docket dates in docketing system
Organizing and maintaining electronic case files in both local storage locations and our document management system
Proofreading legal documents for accuracy
Preparing correspondence and drafting legal documents
Assisting paralegals with obtaining records and trial preparation
Copying and scanning as needed
Occasional backup reception and general office organization

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Specialist, Legal Administrative Assistant, or Legal Secretary in a private practice law firm

Experience filing and service documents on court platforms

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. The annual salary range for this position is $50,000-$70,000.
