Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Household Manager serves as a trusted, reliable extension of the family, handling a wide range of daily operations so the busy executive parents can maximize quality time together with their daughter. This multifaceted role combines elements of personal assistant, nanny, chauffeur, pet caregiver, and household coordinator. The ideal candidate is very proactive, highly organized, discreet, and genuinely enjoys supporting a high-performing family while maintaining a warm, positive presence in the home. Flexibility with non-standard hours is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all household errands and shopping (groceries, supplies, dry cleaning, etc.) to ensure the home runs smoothly without requiring parental involvement.
Serve as primary chauffeur for the daughter: safely transport to and from school, extracurricular activities, appointments, and events.
Oversee light household management tasks including organizing, basic cleaning oversight, laundry, and coordinating with any external vendors or service providers.
Provide attentive care and supervision for the daughter during transportation and occasional family support needs (not full-time childcare).
Care for two Golden Retrievers: daily 60-minute walks, playtime/engagement, feeding, grooming coordination, and ensuring their overall well-being.
Act as personal assistant for family needs: scheduling, correspondence, gift purchasing, event coordination, and other ad-hoc requests.
Maintain household inventory and proactively restock essentials.
Keep the family calendar aligned with school, activities, and household needs.
Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming home environment.
Handle confidential family information with the highest level of discretion.

Hours & Schedule:

Full-time role with flexible, non-standard hours. Typical days may start as late as 11:00 AM or extend until 9:00 PM depending on the family’s schedule (school pickups, activities, and evening needs). Total weekly hours average 40. Occasional weekend or evening flexibility may be required. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record are mandatory.

Qualifications:

Proven experience showing your reliability.
Excellent driving record with no impairments whatsoever; must be comfortable and confident driving a minor.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to anticipate needs.
High level of professionalism, trustworthiness, and emotional intelligence.
Comfort working independently while maintaining close collaboration with the family.
Basic computer skills (email, calendars, shopping apps).

Language Skills:

Must speak English. Must have solid written and verbal communication skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

This is a physically active position that requires the ability to perform the following essential duties on a daily basis:

Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move continuously for extended periods (including 60-minute dog walks daily).
Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds (groceries, household supplies, pet-related items, or child-related equipment).
Safely operate a vehicle for extended periods while transporting a child, including in varying weather and traffic conditions.
Use hands for fine motor tasks such as writing, typing, handling keys, and managing household items.
Maintain visual acuity and hearing sufficient to safely supervise a child and drive.
Work in various environments including indoors, outdoors, and in a moving vehicle.

Work Environment:

Primarily in a private family residence with frequent local driving. Exposure to pets (two Golden Retrievers). Occasional exposure to outdoor weather during walks and errands and work in the office.
