Overview

Here at Coastal Kitchen we are looking for a full time steward, AM & PM as well as weekends/holidays to join our dynamic and energetic team, where your teamwork and dedication will keep our culinary operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our food service environment, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and organization across all kitchen and dining areas. Your proactive approach will support our culinary teams in delivering exceptional experiences to guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced hospitality setting, contributing directly to the success of our food service operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and dining areas in accordance with food safety procedures.
Assist with food preparation tasks, including basic cooking, portioning, and ingredient handling to support culinary staff.
Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy items such as large pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury.
Implement food safety sanitizing procedures regularly to ensure compliance with health regulations and prevent contamination.
Manage dishwashing duties efficiently using industrial equipment while maintaining hygiene standards throughout the process.

Skills

Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments with a focus on food handling and cleaning.
Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures.
Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely.
Skilled in basic food preparation techniques including knife skills and cooking fundamentals.
Experience with dishwashing equipment and maintaining cleanliness standards in busy kitchens or banquet settings.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
