About

Carmel Point Landscapes focuses on landscape design, installation and maintenance as well as personal and commercial scale horticultural consultation. Chris and his team have deep knowledge of horticulture and will bring years of practical experience to bear on client projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative landscape designs for residential, commercial, and public projects while collaborating with clients, project managers, and installation teams. This role requires strong design skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to translate concepts into construction-ready plans.

Key Responsibilities

Develop conceptual and detailed landscape designs, site plans, planting plans, irrigation plans, and construction documents.
Meet with clients to understand project goals, budgets, and site requirements.
Conduct site visits, field measurements, and site analyses.
Prepare design presentations, renderings, and project proposals.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
Select appropriate plant materials, hardscape features, and site furnishings.
Ensure designs comply with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.
Support project management efforts throughout the design and construction process.
Review project progress and provide design support during installation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of landscape design experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Strong knowledge of landscape design principles, plant materials, grading, drainage, and construction practices.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Technical Requirements

Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
Experience with design and visualization software such as SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar programs is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience creating construction documents and technical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in residential and/or commercial landscape design.
Knowledge of sustainable landscape practices and water-efficient design
Landscape Architecture licensure or certification is a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
