POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Staff Nurse III is the highest level of Staff Nurse in the professional series. This incumbent performs the full range of nursing duties with minimal supervision and periodic in-service training.

Required Licensure: Possession of a valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain a California Registered Nurse License prior to employment is required.
AND
Experience: Twelve (12) months or 2,080 hours of experience as an acute care registered nurse in the hiring unit.
One year Charge Nurse experience, highly desirable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment.

Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid Driver License for the class vehicle driven or have the ability to provide suitable transportation that is approved by the appointing authority.

Employees hired into the following units - Intensive Care Unit, Interventional Radiology, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatrics, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit, will need to provide a copy of their diploma, or diploma and transcripts if educated outside of the Unites States at the time of hire.

Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid Driver License or State ID prior to the first day of work (Social Security Card is required for payroll purposes only).

Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.

Incumbents may be required to work with potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
