JOB DESCRIPTION
The Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial health and long-term performance of the organization. This role provides leadership in financial planning, budgeting, analysis, reporting, and risk management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The VP of Finance partners closely with senior leadership to drive operational excellence, optimize financial results, support technology initiatives, and enable sustainable growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy.
· Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions, capital investments, and operational initiatives.
· Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
· Monitor and analyze financial performance, KPIs, and trends to identify risks and opportunities.
· Prepare and present accurate, timely financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.
· Ensure strong internal controls, financial accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.
· Manage cash flow, treasury functions, working capital, and liquidity planning.
· Partner with department leaders to evaluate financial performance and cost efficiencies.
· Support cost accounting, margin optimization, and profitability analysis.
· Lead pricing support for all product lines, including development and maintenance of SKU-level costing and pricing models for the Value-Added facility.
· Develop, maintain, and review daily yield reports and operational KPIs, including direct and indirect labor performance.
· Conduct sales analysis to support forecasting, pricing decisions, customer profitability, and business strategy.
· Oversee financial modeling for new projects, acquisitions, contracts, or strategic initiatives.
· Manage the IT department, ensuring alignment between technology strategy and business objectives.
· Oversee Famous ERP and other system enhancements, including maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and optimization for operational efficiency.
· Lead Business Intelligence (BI) implementation, including dashboards, reporting frameworks, and data governance.
· Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve automation, data accuracy, and system integration across the company.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technology supports operational, financial, and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure adherence to federal, state, and industry regulations.
· Lead internal and external audit processes.
· Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, insurance programs, and financial policies.
· Safeguard company assets through strong fiscal governance.
· Lead and develop the Finance, Accounting, and IT teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning.
· Improve processes through automation, systems optimization, and technology enhancements.
SKILL / QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline required.
· MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced financial credentials preferred
· 7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, FP&A, or operational finance.
· Proven success as a Controller, Director of Finance, or VP-level leader.
· Demonstrated ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis functions.
· Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
· Proficient with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP).
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and analytical capability.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
· Professional office environment with occasional visits to operational sites or facilities.
· Must be able to work extended hours based on business needs or reporting deadlines.
· Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments with high accuracy requirements.

The Vice President of Finance primarily works in a professional office setting with extensive use of computers, ERP systems, financial reporting platforms, BI tools, and communication technology. The role requires frequent collaboration with Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, Sales, Grower Accounting, and Executive Leadership.
While the position is office‑based, periodic travel and onsite presence are required to support financial analysis, operational reviews, IT initiatives, KPI validation, system enhancements, and strategic decision‑making. This includes scheduled visits to processing plants, the Value‑Added facility, field pack operations, and grower/harvest locations, particularly during seasonal or high‑volume periods.
Essential duties regularly include desk‑based work such as financial analysis, modeling, reporting, system oversight, pricing analysis, meetings, documentation, and strategic planning. Onsite visits may require walking, standing, climbing stairs, and engaging directly with operational teams to understand workflow, evaluate data integrity, observe production processes, and support continuous improvement.
The position may involve infrequent lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and occasional activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching when touring operational sites. During field, plant, or facility visits, the employee may encounter exposure to mechanical equipment, active production areas, elevated work surfaces, cold environments, and outdoor weather conditions including heat, wind, and dust.
