Job Description:

As Estimator, you must be able to utilize industry knowledge and construction experience to assess project scope, material, labor and associated costs to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction project types, while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options. Candidate will be expected to attend pre-bid meetings and site visits in order to solicit accurate material pricing from suppliers and communicate project objectives with clients, project managers, architects and engineers.

Standard Responsibilities:

The role of an Estimator includes but is not limited to the following:

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.
Create estimates for labor, materials, and equipment for all phases of construction projects.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
Respond to bids on time, in the manner requested, while maintaining professional, polished presentation standards
Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
Communicate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and suppliers to solicit accurate material pricing and communicate estimation methodologies.
Work comfortably both independently and in collaboration with project managers, assistants and other estimators as the situation requires.

Required Skills:

Ability to read drawings with solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to effectively communicate and present information to external clients/audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project
Familiarity with commercial, multi-family, hotel, and/or mixed-use construction projects.
Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, with problem-solving mindset and strong time management skill and attention to detail.

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
5-10 years commercial construction experience.
Or equivalent combination of both education and experience
