Camp Kostopulos (Camp K) is looking for an energetic, compassionate, and dependable Activity Support Specialist to join our Programs Team.
Camp K provides recreational and therapeutic recreation opportunities for children, teens, and adults of all abilities. Our programs give participants opportunities to build friendships, develop independence, explore their community, try new things, and—most importantly—have fun.
As an Activity Support Specialist, you won't spend your days sitting behind a desk. You'll be out in the community, participating in recreation, leading activities, supporting participants, driving to outings, and helping people experience opportunities they may not otherwise have.
Activities may include bowling, sporting events, arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, swimming, community outings, holiday events, social activities, adaptive recreation, and much more.
If you're patient, positive, adventurous, and enjoy helping others succeed, this could be a great fit for you.

Support Participants
- Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with participants while supporting their individual abilities, interests, choices, and goals.
- Provide verbal, physical, and hands-on assistance so participants can safely and successfully participate in recreational activities.

- Become familiar with each participant's history, individual needs, goals, support plans, and safety considerations.
- Follow established behavioral support strategies and provide feedback regarding their effectiveness.
- Assist participants with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) when needed, including transfers, toileting, feeding, mobility, and other personal support.
- Treat every participant with dignity, patience, respect, and professionalism.
Lead Fun & Meaningful Activities
- Assist with planning, organizing, setting up, and implementing recreational and community-based programs.
- Lead activities and groups as assigned.
- Adapt activities so individuals with different abilities can participate successfully.
- Help participants try new experiences while providing the level of support each individual needs.
- Assist with activity setup, equipment, supplies, cleanup, and program-area organization.
- Identify equipment and supply needs and communicate recommendations to program leadership.
- Help create an environment where participants feel welcomed, included, safe, and excited to participate.

Communicate & Be Part of the Team
- Work closely with Program Managers and other members of the Camp K Programs Team.
- Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and program planning.
- Communicate important participant, family, staffing, transportation, behavioral, or program concerns promptly.
