Sous Chef – Upscale Italian Restaurant

$80,000 - $90,000

This well-known and highly regarded restaurant group is looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef for their upscale Italian concept, offering outstanding compensation, excellent training, and career growth opportunity.

Your Role with the Company:

The Sous Chef assists in overseeing all back-of-house operations of the restaurant. Responsibilities will include:

Support the Chef de Cuisine and leadership team in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent execution of menus, recipes, standards, and service expectations
Lead by example through hands-on service, maintaining quality, organization, urgency, and professionalism across prep, production, and the line
Expedite service as needed, ensuring accuracy, pacing, communication, presentation, and quality control during high-volume shifts
Train, coach, and mentor cooks while fostering a positive, accountable, and collaborative kitchen culture
Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory, waste control, and food cost management while maintaining strong organization and adherence to kitchen systems
Manage scheduling, station assignments, labor efficiency, and daily team communication to support smooth operations and control labor costs
Uphold food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, SOPs, and overall kitchen standards while partnering with FOH and leadership to deliver seamless guest experiences

Your Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef for a high volume ($8M+) upscale or fine dining restaurant
Proven ability to lead, train, and develop culinary teams with professionalism, accountability, and a hands-on approach
Experience in a high-volume, chef-driven restaurant environment with strong attention to consistency, quality, and pace of service
Strong working knowledge of kitchen operations, including scheduling, ordering, inventory, labor management, and cost controls
Skilled at expediting service with urgency, accuracy, clear communication, and composure during busy shifts
Emotionally intelligent, humble, and collaborative leader who remains steady under pressure and supports a positive team culture
