Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. In this vital role, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Your expertise in payroll systems, accounting principles, and human resources will drive efficiency and integrity across our payroll functions. Duties

Manage the complete payroll cycle using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll software.
Ensure compliance with employment and labor law regulations by staying current on tax law changes and payroll tax requirements.
Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and accounting software to guarantee accuracy.
Oversee benefits administration processes related to payroll deductions, retirement contributions, and health insurance enrollments.
Collaborate with human resources and accounting teams to process journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting related to payroll expenses.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information and payroll data.
Support audits by preparing documentation on payroll transactions, tax filings, and compliance reports.
Troubleshoot issues related to time & attendance systems such as Kronos or similar platforms; provide technical support for payroll systems.
Ensure timely processing of payroll for all staff while adhering to deadlines; handle inquiries from employees regarding pay discrepancies or benefits.
Assist in implementing new HRIS (Human Resource Information System) modules or updates to existing systems like PeopleSoft or UltiPro.

Experience

Proven experience managing payroll operations within a corporate accounting environment; minimum of five years preferred.
Extensive knowledge of payroll management systems including Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, Ceridian, UltiPro or equivalent platforms.
Strong understanding of employment & labor law as well as tax law applicable to payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions.
Demonstrated expertise in accounting software such as QuickBooks or other financial tools; proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis is essential.
Experience with benefits administration, non-profit accounting (if applicable), accounts payable/receivable, and governmental accounting is a plus.
Solid background in general ledger reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and technical accounting concepts.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Familiarity with time & attendance systems like Kronos or similar platforms; ability to support technical troubleshooting for payroll systems is highly desirable.
