Position: RESET Therapist (VOCA)

Status: Exempt

Reports To: RESET Client Services Manager

Overview:

YWCA exists to eliminate racism and empower women. Since 1850, YWCA associations around the country have empowered women to lead their communities in social change. The San Antonio chapter, established in 1910, has provided support for women and girls to become economically self-sufficient while working on the front lines to promote racial justice. The core programming of the YWCA San Antonio has evolved over its 110-year history, and today the organization serves nearly 30,000 clients through programs focused on women’s economic empowerment, health and wellness, youth and teens, and racial justice. The RESET (Re-engagement for Self-Sufficiency, Empowerment and Transformation) program serves women survivors and disengaged young women, ages 16 to 24 who are either not in school or not working and need options and resources to guide them toward becoming financially, emotionally, and socially secure. The RESET Therapist is a VOCA funded position. The therapist provides trauma informed mental health services to eligible clients. Populations include adult survivors who have been adversely affected by trauma, pregnant and parenting families; young adults in extended foster care; opportunity youth, and residents of the Women’s Live and Learn Center. The therapist is expected to utilize trauma informed modalities and consistent client centered best practices. Assist clients in developing long term plans to manage emotional distress and mental health concerns.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Uphold the values of integrity, learning, service to the client, and stewardship to the agency.

2. Remains current, knowledgeable, and in compliance with funder and agency regulations, standards, and state and federal laws which regulate the governing of YWCA SA activities.

3. Be cross trained and support agency functions as assigned by supervisor.

4. Provide trauma informed mental health services to clients eligible for YWCA programs.

5. Provide individual and group counseling to address personal, social, parental, relational, and vocational effects of trauma and other stressors.

6. Provide therapeutic support to children of eligible program clients.

7. Assess needs and provide needed referrals to address mental health needs.

8. Assess Women Live and Learn Center prospective applicants in collaboration with case management team.

9. Research, develop, and implement new psychoeducational curriculums that address client needs through an innovative lens.

10. Develop and implement individual therapeutic plans and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

11. Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to meet changes in client’s status and help client move toward restoration and empowerment.

12. Work collaboratively with RESET team to communicate treatment plan changes and progress.

13. Communicate client progress and needs with appropriate agency staff, as needed.

14. Assess, monitor, and refer for psychiatric needs.

15. Maintain comprehensive and accurate case notes for each client that meet all regulatory and ethical standards.

16. Maintain confidentiality of records according to regulatory and ethical standards.

17. Gather information about community and mental health resources that can be used in conjunction with therapy to address the client’s full systemic needs.

18. Establish and maintain effective professional rapport with all stakeholders including clients, community partners, and colleagues.

19. Submit any required client billing in an accurate and timely manner according to all regulatory standards and billing requirements as directed by COO.

20. Complete and submit reports, internal measurements, program outcomes, and other reporting measures as directed by COO or assigned supervisor.

21. Provide on-call support as assigned by supervisor.

22. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION:

● Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences or closely related field. LCSW or LPC strongly preferred.

● Must have a minimum of an LPC-A , LMSW in clinical supervision, or closely related licensure.

EXPERIENCE:

● One (1) to three (3) years’ experience counseling various populations with complex trauma.

● Able to handle confidential information.

● Reliable transportation

● Current Vehicle Insurance

● Ability to pass a criminal history check to include a national fingerprint check

● Good understanding and skillset in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products

● Excellent written and verbal skills

● Bilingual preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

· Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)- Preferred

· Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)- Preferred

· Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)- Preferred

· *Interns under approved board-certified supervision will be considered

· Valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.
