POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for the overall accounting operations of the company. This includes the timely and accurate production of monthly financial statements, maintenance of accounting records, coordination of annual audits, and execution of a comprehensive internal control framework designed to mitigate operational risk, safeguard assets, and ensure compliance with GAAP.

This Position has a salary of 85-110K per year
JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the General Ledger, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, trial balances, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain and optimize the corporate Chart of Accounts.
Treasury, Banking & Cash Management
- Manage daily and weekly banking activities, including cash deposits, bank reconciliations, and account setups.
- Oversee Accounts Payable operations to ensure timely, accurate vendor payments and cash flow optimization.
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, including sales tax, property tax, and specialty filings (e.g., environmental, tire fees).
- Support our external tax advisors on the filing of income tax returns
- Manage year-end tax reporting processes, including 1099/1096 issuance and W-9 administration.
- Ensure all accounting policies and financial practices comply with GAAP and statutory regulations.
Audit, Controls & Asset Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to verify data integrity and protect company assets.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, asset setup, tracking, depreciation schedules, disposals, and file maintenance across all entities.
Leadership & Special Projects
- Provide financial insight and ad-hoc analysis to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead or participate in special cross-functional projects and operational initiatives.
- Collaborate professionally with internal departments, executive management, clients, franchisees, and external partners.
- Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function and ensure vendors are paid timely/accurately and that all payables are properly approved.
- Manage the company credit and fuel cards and act as the administrator for those programs.
Reporting Relationship
- Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
- Manages one accountant role and one AP clerk

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Sufficient formal and/or informal training to provide the ability to read and write at a level consistent with the requirements of the position;
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Experience: Strong hands-on expertise in general ledger management, AP/AR, treasury/banking, and multi-entity accounting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, modeling, data analysis) and enterprise accounting software.
- Leadership & Core Skills: Proven financial management capabilities, excellent organizational habits, high attention to detail, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Certifications: CPA preferred
- Willingness and ability to pass an alcohol, drug and background check.

- Advanced knowledge of industry, must be able to use consistent exercise of discretion and judgement;
- Advanced beyond basic proper use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling; basic mathematics; legal and proper telephone etiquette and techniques; standard office software applications; standard office equipment;
- Advanced beyond basic application of data processing in the maintenance of records and reports;
- Advanced beyond basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access) tools is essential;
- Expert knowledge of how to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
