Full Job Description

Price Pelletier LLP is seeking an exceptional Senior Litigation Legal Assistant to support three busy civil defense attorneys in our San Diego office.

This is not an entry-level position, and it is not a role for someone who prefers to wait for instructions. We are looking for a seasoned legal assistant who enjoys being the organizational center of a litigation team and takes pride in helping attorneys stay proactive, responsive, and prepared.

Our ideal candidate has at least five years of civil litigation defense experience and genuinely enjoys managing a busy desk, tracking deadlines, anticipating needs, following up on outstanding tasks, and helping attorneys maintain excellent client service.

Price Pelletier LLP is a growing civil defense firm representing transportation, trucking, and general liability clients throughout California. We pride ourselves on excellent client service, teamwork, and maintaining a positive, professional work environment.

Our attorneys are experienced, hardworking, and highly engaged with their clients. The successful candidate will work closely with three litigators and become a trusted member of their team.

What You'll Do

Support your attorneys in various aspects of litigation with a primary focus on managing their calendars, deadlines, and litigation schedules;
Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and expert discovery;
Prepare, format, file and serve pleadings and litigation documents in both state and federal court;
Maintain case file organization and litigation databases;
Monitor case activity and proactively follow up on outstanding items;
Communicate professionally with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel;
Assist with trial preparation and document organization;
Help attorneys stay organized, responsive, and ahead of deadlines.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of civil litigation legal assistant experience
Defense litigation experience strongly preferred
Must be able to file and serve pleadings
Excellent calendaring and deadline management skills
Strong knowledge of California court procedures and filing requirements
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple attorneys and competing priorities
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and litigation case management software
