Part-Time Registered Vascular Ultrasound Technologist (RVT/RVS)

About the Position

San Diego Cardiac, Vein & Laser Center is seeking an experienced, motivated, and patient-focused Part-Time Registered Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our growing outpatient vascular laboratory and vein practice.

This position will primarily serve our Chula Vista office, with additional coverage at our El Cajon location as needed.

Our practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease and peripheral vascular disorders, utilizing state-of-the-art ultrasound technology and performing a high volume of minimally invasive office-based endovenous procedures.

This is a vascular-focused position. The successful candidate will perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations and actively participate in office-based endovenous procedures. While experience performing echocardiography is welcomed and considered an asset, the primary emphasis is on vascular imaging and endovenous interventions.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform:

Comprehensive venous reflux ultrasound examinations
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) evaluations
Carotid duplex ultrasound studies
Upper and lower extremity arterial Doppler examinations
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening studies
Other vascular ultrasound examinations as clinically indicated

The technologist will also actively participate in office-based endovenous procedures, including:

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
Ultrasound-guided venous access
Intra-procedural ultrasound guidance
Pre- and post-procedure vascular assessments

Additional responsibilities include:

Performing accurate ultrasound measurements and documentation
Preparing preliminary ultrasound reports for physician review
Maintaining excellent patient care before, during, and after procedures
Collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff
Maintaining ultrasound equipment and quality standards
Working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

QualificationsRequired

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT/RVS) or equivalent credential
Minimum of 3–4 years of hands-on experience performing comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations
Minimum of 3–4 years of experience assisting with and/or performing office-based endovenous procedures, including Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
Strong knowledge of venous insufficiency, venous reflux studies, DVT evaluation, carotid duplex imaging, and peripheral arterial ultrasound
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
Ability to work independently in a busy outpatient setting

Preferred (Not Required)

Experience performing transthoracic echocardiography (RDCS or equivalent) is a valuable bonus but is not required, as this position is primarily dedicated to vascular imaging and endovenous procedures.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
Prior experience in an office-based vein center

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation based on experience, credentials, and qualifications.
