Job Summary

Job Overview

Graceful Care Homes is hiring a reliable and experienced Caregiver to provide direct care and supervision to residents in an adult residential care setting. This role is for someone who is serious, dependable, and comfortable providing hands-on personal care.

Responsibilities

Provide toileting assistance (including incontinence care and brief changes)
Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
Support residents with mobility and transfers (may include gait belt use)
Monitor residents throughout the night and ensure safety
Perform light housekeeping related to resident care (laundry, tidying, cleaning care areas)
Document care provided and report any changes in condition
Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional environment overnight

Requirements

Experience as a caregiver (facility experience preferred)
Must be comfortable with hands-on personal care (toileting, bathing, etc.)
Must be dependable and able to work overnight shifts consistently
CPR/First Aid preferred (or willing to obtain)
Must pass background check
Must be able to communicate clearly in English
Must be patient, respectful, and professional

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a board & care, assisted living, or group home
Experience working with behavioral residents or dementia (a plus)

Responsibilities

Monitor residents’ health status through patient observation and vital signs checks during overnight shifts
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA guidelines
Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for residents as needed
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and resident conditions
Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or memory care needs through specialized techniques
Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely for resident transfers and heavy lifting tasks
Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in residents’ conditions, including patient monitoring and first aid if necessary
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans and support residents’ overall well-being

Requirements

Prior experience in assisted living, home & community care, hospice care, or long-term care preferred
Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care
Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs is a plus
Ability to work overnight shifts reliably and responsibly in a home or community setting
Strong observational skills to monitor patient health and safety effectively
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure resident confidentiality and privacy compliance

This role is vital in providing compassionate overnight support that promotes safety, dignity, and quality of life for our residents.
