Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various legal matters, providing essential support through research, drafting, and analysis. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the legal field while contributing to meaningful work in contract law, litigation, and fraud prevention.

Responsibilities

Case File Management:
Assist with opening new case files by preparing letters of representation and personal injury claims.
Organize and maintain client files, ensuring compliance with Firm policies and confidentiality standards.
Settlement and Negotiation Support:
Support the settlement confirmation and negotiation process, under the direction of the Principal Attorney.
Collaborate with clerks in lien negotiations.
Legal Case Support:
Assist in personal injury law, workers compensation, criminal law, immigration and general law cases.
Conduct legal research, prepare case-related documents, and support case progression.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all tasks and documents comply with relevant laws, regulations, and Firm policies.
Review and organize legal documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
General Legal Assistance:
Provide additional legal assistance and administrative support as needed by the Principal Attorney.

Competencies / Skills

Prioritization & Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks and requests in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Communication Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English (Spanish proficiency preferred but not required).
Attention to Detail: Keen ability to spot errors and ensure all work is precise and accurate.
Team Player: Ability to work well with others and maintain positive working relationships.
Time Management: Strong ability to meet deadlines while managing various responsibilities.
Independence & Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering collegial relationships.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and legal document management systems.
Professionalism & Integrity: Must exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and act with professionalism.

Required Education and Experience

Completion of at least one year of law school (minimum equivalent of 24 semester hours).
Bachelor’s degree in any field.

Professional Experience / Qualifications

Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This Law Clerk position is an opportunity for law students or individuals with relevant academic experience to gain practical, hands-on exposure in various areas of law, supporting the Principal Attorney across personal injury, workers compensation, criminal, and general legal matters.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
