DESCRIPTION

Please Note: Napa Valley College accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately, if a need arises without having to wait for a period of time to advertise. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by the department supervisor, dean and/or program coordinator. Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years.

Napa Valley College is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly Art instructors. The starting salary range is $79.40-$85.87/classroom hour, with future steps up to $100.46/classroom hour. Placement is based on verified previous college teaching or counseling experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in fine arts, art, or art history

OR bachelor's in any of the above

AND master's in humanities

OR the equivalent.

(NOTE: ''Master's in fine arts" as used here refers to any master's degree in the subject matter of fine arts, which is defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and metal and jewelry art; and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the "Master of Fine Arts" (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video, photography, creative writing or other non-plastic arts.)

Legible copies of transcripts verifying college work, degrees, and conferral dates.

NOTE: Unofficial copies of transcripts accepted at time of application, however, official transcripts will be required upon offer of employment.

Foreign Transcripts: Napa Valley College requires that individuals who have completed college or university course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts, degrees and other relevant documents. A foreign transcript evaluation is required any time foreign course work is used to meet minimum qualifications and/or salary placement, even if the foreign transcript has previously been accepted by a different college or university in the United States. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by one of the organizations approved by the State of California, Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
