Full Job Description

This is a full-time position to work 40-45 hours a week, including one weekend day.

Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our Pastry culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry preparation and a creative flair for designing and decorating desserts. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality while delivering exceptional customer service. If you have a love for baking and an eye for detail, we want to hear from you!

Duties

Co-lead and support a team of 13-20 employees
Support the hiring, the team training & new hire
Plans, delegates and follows up on expected tasks, assignments and activities to ensure expectations and objectives are met
Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies to ensure that necessary products are available when needed
Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all food preparation meets safety and sanitation regulations.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus and create innovative dessert offerings.
Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, using various techniques and tools.
Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests regarding menu items and special requests.

Skills

Proficient in pastry techniques, including baking, cake decorating, and food preparation.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of ingredients.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Experience in catering or large-scale food production is a plus.
A passion for culinary arts and creativity in dessert design.
