Full Job Description

Associate General Dentist – Palo Alto, CA

We are a busy, patient-focused private dental practice in Palo Alto looking for an Associate General Dentist to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is clinically motivated, personable, dependable, and excited to grow with a well-established practice. Our ideal associate enjoys building relationships with patients, takes pride in providing high-quality dentistry, and understands that a great dental office is a team environment.

About Our Practice

Our practice has an established patient base and a supportive, experienced team. We provide comprehensive general dentistry with a strong emphasis on quality, patient experience, and long-term relationships.

We believe in treating patients honestly and conservatively while also taking the time to educate them about their oral health and treatment options.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced owner dentist who is happy to provide mentorship, case discussion, and clinical support when desired.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who:

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is warm, confident, and comfortable building relationships with patients
Provides thoughtful, high-quality dentistry
Is efficient and able to stay on schedule
Has a positive and professional attitude
Works well with assistants, hygienists, front office team members, and other doctors
Is receptive to feedback and interested in continued clinical growth
Is comfortable diagnosing and presenting comprehensive treatment
Is willing to help the team when needed and values a collaborative work environment
Is dependable and looking for a practice where they can establish themselves long-term

Clinical Responsibilities

Our associate should be comfortable providing general dental services including:

Comprehensive and limited examinations
Restorative dentistry
Crowns and bridges
Emergency treatment
Simple extractions
Preventive care
Periodontal treatment, including SRP when appropriate
Treatment planning and patient education

Experience with additional procedures is welcome, and there may be opportunities to expand your scope of treatment as your skills and confidence grow.

Schedule

We are looking for an associate for approximately 3-4 clinical days per week, with the potential for additional days as the practice and associate relationship develops.

Compensation

Competitive compensation based on experience and production.

We are interested in finding the right long-term fit, not simply filling a schedule. For the right associate, there is significant opportunity to develop a strong patient base and grow within the practice.

Qualifications

DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
Active California dental license or ability to obtain one
Current malpractice coverage
Excellent patient communication skills
Commitment to ethical, high-quality patient care
