About the Role
The Public Areas Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall condition of all public spaces at The Tryst, including the lobby, corridors, stairways, elevators, public restrooms, entrances, outdoor terraces, and beachside areas. This role ensures that every shared space guests encounter reflects the hotel’s commitment to an impeccable, welcoming environment.
While primarily focused on public areas, this role may also assist with guest room cleaning as needed to support overall Housekeeping operations.
The ideal candidate takes genuine pride in their work, moves with purpose and discretion in guest-facing spaces, and understands that a clean, beautiful environment is central to The Tryst experience.

Key Responsibilities
Interior Public Areas
- Clean and maintain the lobby, corridors, stairways, elevators, and all interior public spaces throughout every shift.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish all floor surfaces to hotel standards, addressing spills and hazards immediately.
- Clean and sanitize mirrors, glass surfaces, windows, and door panels to maintain a spotless appearance.
- Ensure all seating areas, artwork, decorative elements, and signage are dust-free and presentable at all times.
Public Restrooms
- Clean and sanitize all public restrooms thoroughly and on a continuous schedule throughout the shift.
- Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other amenities, ensuring restrooms are fully supplied at all times.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners regularly; report any plumbing or maintenance issues promptly.
Exterior & Beachside Areas
- Maintain the cleanliness of all hotel entrances, outdoor walkways, terraces, and beachside areas.
- Sweep sidewalks and outdoor pathways; collect and dispose of trash and debris throughout the day.
- Monitor outdoor areas continuously during busy periods to ensure they remain clean and inviting for guests.
Interdepartmental Support & Reporting
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards observed in public areas to the Supervisor or Engineering team immediately.
- Communicate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments as needed to support guest flow and special events.
- Assist with guest room cleaning duties as directed by the Housekeeping Lead during periods of high occupancy.
- Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support overall hotel operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Prior housekeeping, janitorial, or hospitality cleaning experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe chemical handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in guest-visible areas with a discreet, professional presence.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player.
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Puerto Rico.
- Candidates may be required to complete an English proficiency assessment to evaluate written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in a hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with hotel-grade cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning products.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Requisitos mínimos
- Debe tener al menos un (1) año de experiencia en el campo
- Debe poseer buena atención a detalles de limpieza.
- Destrezas de hospitalidad y servicio al cliente.
- Disponibilidad de horarios rotativos.
- Los candidatos tendran que completar un formulario en inglés para evaluar las habilidades de comunicación escrita y verbal.
