Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Import/Export Logistics Specialist to join our global supply chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing international shipping and customs compliance, coordinating transportation logistics, and optimizing import/export processes to ensure seamless product flow across borders. Your expertise will drive efficiency, reduce costs, and support our company's strategic growth in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your supply chain management skills and make a tangible impact on our global operations.

Duties

Oversee end-to-end import and export operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), 3PL providers, and carriers to arrange transportation logistics and freight forwarding.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments, manage documentation, and optimize delivery schedules.
Conduct root cause analysis on shipment delays or discrepancies, implementing process improvements to prevent recurrence.
Manage procurement activities related to international sourcing, including vendor management, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies.
Analyze supply chain data using tools like Tableau, SQL, Excel data analysis, and spreadsheets to identify trends, forecast demand, and support inventory control.
Ensure trade compliance by staying updated on international trade regulations and customs procedures while preparing accurate shipping documentation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, warehouse operations, customer service, and procurement teams to streamline order fulfillment and inventory management.
Practice in a supply chain operations role by managing materials handling, stocking strategies, and warehouse distribution processes for optimal efficiency.
Support transportation planning efforts by coordinating freight schedules, dispatching shipments, and managing transportation logistics for timely delivery.
Maintain detailed records of shipping & receiving activities while ensuring adherence to safety standards such as forklift operation and manual handling protocols.

Experience

Proven experience in import/export logistics or supply chain management within a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance standards.
Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or equivalent systems such as SAP or Oracle ERP.
Proficiency in data analysis tools including Tableau, SQL, Excel (including data analysis), and spreadsheets for reporting and decision-making purposes.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors and carriers to secure favorable pricing and service terms.
Familiarity with transportation planning tools such as TMS software; experience coordinating freight movements via NVOCC or 3PL providers preferred.
Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment like forklifts is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration across departments like procurement, customer service, warehouse operations, and logistics management.
Practicing in a supply chain operations role with experience in inventory control, demand planning, shipping logistics, and procurement processes is highly desirable.
