Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated General Practitioner (MD) to join our healthcare and clinical research team. The selected candidate will provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting while supporting clinical trial activities conducted in collaboration with pharmaceutical sponsors and clinical research staff. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to patient care while supporting the successful conduct and advancement of clinical research studies.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history and physical examinations
Diagnose and manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting
Conduct follow-up visits and ongoing patient monitoring
Admit patients and coordinate care with hospital teams when required
Document patient encounters accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Collaborate with physicians, research coordinators, and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care
Support clinical research activities and assist with the implementation of research protocols when applicable
Ensure compliance with clinical standards, research protocols, and regulatory requirements
Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Participate in occasional weekend hospital visits when necessary

Qualifications

Required

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
Active Medical License in Puerto Rico
Active NPI (National Provider Identifier)
Completion of internship / internado training
Experience providing direct patient care in outpatient or clinical settings
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care

Preferred

Experience or familiarity with clinical research or clinical trials
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
