We're looking for dependable, customer-focused photographers and videographers to join our growing contractor team throughout San Diego County.
Whether you're an experienced photographer or someone looking to grow your skills, we'd love to hear from you. Prior photography or videography experience is preferred but not required—we're happy to train motivated individuals who have a great attitude and strong customer service skills.
All members of the Fotility team are independent 1099 contractors. We do not employ W-2 employees or interns.
What We Photograph
Our team works on a wide variety of photography and videography projects, including:
- Portraits (individuals, families, children, maternity, seniors, headshots)
- Weddings, engagements, and special events
- Commercial, branding, and promotional photography
- Food, product, and real estate photography
- Memorials and other meaningful life moments
Our talented team includes photographers, videographers, drone pilots, and photography assistants.
What You'll Do
- Photograph and/or film a variety of client sessions and events
- Deliver a professional, friendly, and memorable client experience
- Represent the Fotility brand with professionalism and courtesy
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled assignments
- Follow Fotility's photography standards and shooting techniques
- Travel throughout San Diego County to client locations
- Complete Fotility's certification exercises and training before accepting independent assignments
- Communicate effectively with clients and the Fotility team before and after assignments
No photo or video editing is required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience photographing portraits and live events (food and automotive photography is a plus)
- A solid understanding of exposure, including ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and how they affect both light and creative results
- Experience shooting with DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras, and an understanding of prime versus zoom lenses
- Knowledge of shooting in natural light and with off-camera lighting
- Experience capturing images in RAW format
- An understanding of photographic composition, including rule of thirds, leading lines, and centered compositions
- The ability to compose images correctly in-camera to minimize post-processing
- Personal photography equipment that meets Fotility's quality standards (if using your own gear)
- The ability to consistently shoot in the Fotility style and maintain brand consistency. Team members are expected to produce approximately 80% of their work in the Fotility style, with up to 20% reflecting their own creative approach.
Having your own full-frame DSLR and/or mirrorless camera and lenses is a plus, but it is not required. Contractors will have access to Fotility gear as needed an required for assignments.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time, contract (1099) position
- Initial workload of approximately 10–15 hours per month
- Most assignments are scheduled 1–2 weeks in advance, although occasional short-notice opportunities may arise
- Opportunity to grow to approximately 30–40 hours per month
- Pay ranges from $25–$65 per hour, based on experience
- No editing required
