Full Job Description

Reports To: Clinic Manager / Lead Provider
Location: San Leandro, California

CityHealth Urgent Care is a successful, independently owned and operated urgent care clinic in San Leandro. We are seeking an experienced, confident Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in urgent care, emergency medicine, or another fast-paced outpatient clinical environment. This role is well suited to a provider who enjoys practicing independently, managing a broad range of acute and routine concerns, performing procedures, and delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive urgent care services, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and appropriate referrals.
Perform focused physical examinations; order and interpret diagnostic tests; develop treatment plans; and prescribe medications within scope of practice.
Evaluate and manage a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries in a high-volume urgent care setting.
Perform urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, splinting, incision and drainage, foreign-body removal, eye examinations, pelvic examinations, joint injections, and other procedures within training and scope of practice.
Provide school and sports physicals, annual wellness visits, medication-refill visits, and weight-management care as appropriate.
Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, front-desk staff, and other team members to ensure coordinated, efficient, high-quality patient care.
Document all patient encounters accurately, thoroughly, and promptly in the Epic electronic medical record.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, medication use, and follow-up instructions.
Follow CityHealth policies, clinical protocols, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality-improvement efforts and support a respectful, team-oriented clinic environment.

Qualifications

Current, active California Physician Assistant license.
Current NCCPA certification.
At least two years of independent Physician Assistant experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a comparable fast-paced clinical environment preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, procedural, and decision-making skills.
Comfort managing patients independently while consulting the lead provider or physician when clinically appropriate.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-education skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting while maintaining compassionate, high-quality care.
Experience with Epic or another electronic medical record system preferred.
Current BLS certification required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $80.00 - $95.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 36 per week
