Registered Nurse (RN) – Full-Time only

Location: DeKalb County Jail – Decatur, GA
Schedule: 3x12s | 7a-7p | 7p-7a Rotating Weekends

$ Base Pay: $42.00–$50.00/hour, based on verified years of RN experience.

RN Pay Structure

0–4 years: $42.00/hour
5–9 years: $43.00/hour
10–14 years: $46.00/hour
15+ years: $50.00/hour

Additional Shift Differentials

Evening Shift: +$1.50/hour
Night Shift: +$3.00/hour
Weekend Shift: +$4.00/hour
Weekend Night Shift: +$4.00/hour

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will:

Provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional healthcare setting.
Perform intake assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
Assess patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
Triage patients and respond to urgent and emergent medical needs.
Administer medications and treatments using approved nursing standards.
Monitor patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
Perform diagnostic testing, including EKGs and other physician-ordered procedures.
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and minor procedures.
Educate patients on medications, chronic disease management, and preventive healthcare.
Accurately document patient care using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to successfully complete a Level 2 background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Correctional healthcare experience is not required. We welcome nurses from hospital, emergency, behavioral health, long-term care, rehabilitation, and other clinical backgrounds and provide the training and support needed for a successful transition.
