Full Job Description

Location: Alpharetta, GA — On-site
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Job Type: Temporary/Seasonal
Project Length: Approximately 3–6 months

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals to assist with a temporary medical claims processing project lasting approximately three to six months.

No previous medical billing or coding experience is required. Paid, in-house training will be provided.

The primary responsibilities of this position include submitting prepared medical claims, checking claim statuses with insurance companies, documenting whether claims have been paid or denied, and routing claims to the appropriate resolution team.

This is an entry-level support position and does not require independent medical coding, denial resolution, appeals, or collections.

Strong performers may be considered for continued or permanent employment after the project ends, depending on job performance, attendance, company needs, and available positions. Continued employment is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Submit prepared medical claims through designated billing systems or insurance portals
Review claims for required information before submission
Check insurance company portals for claim status updates
Document whether claims are paid, denied, rejected, pending, or require additional review
Route paid or denied claims to the appropriate internal team
Update spreadsheets, trackers, and electronic records
Upload and organize claim-related documents
Follow established workflows and written instructions
Maintain accurate and complete documentation
Protect confidential patient and company information
Follow HIPAA requirements and company privacy policies
Report missing or inconsistent information to a supervisor
Meet assigned productivity and accuracy expectations
Complete additional administrative tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
No previous medical billing experience required
Basic computer literacy
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Ability to navigate websites and online portals
Ability to accurately enter and review information
Strong attention to detail
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently after training
Ability to work on-site in Alpharetta, Georgia

Preferred Qualifications

Previous data-entry, administrative, customer-service, or office experience
Experience using spreadsheets or electronic tracking systems
Familiarity with medical terminology or health insurance
Experience working in a fast-paced, production-based environment

Training

Paid, in-house training will be provided. Candidates must be available to attend and successfully complete the required on-site training.

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, comfortable working on a computer, and able to complete repetitive tasks accurately. Candidates should be able to follow established procedures, meet deadlines, and maintain patient confidentiality.

Work Location

This position is fully on-site in Alpharetta, Georgia. It is not a remote or hybrid position.
