Full Job Description

Controller

Patco Construction Inc

Sanford, ME 04073

PATCO CONSTRUCTION is seeking applicants for a full-time Controller. This individual will direct and organize all general accounting activities for Patco Construction and other related entities. The Controller prepares accounting and financial reports, works with the owners and other senior managers on annual budgets, assists the CPA with annual income tax support (3rd-party accounting firm used for tax preparation), prepares and files all statutory reports (payroll, use tax, etc.), and ensures accurate accounting systems and reporting for payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash management. In addition, the Controller provides guidance and support for the company's Human Resources functions and will have two direct reports (staff accountants). The Controller interacts with various 3rd party professionals (bankers, insurance brokers, etc...) for Patco and related entities.

Required Experience and Skills:

Five or more years of accounting experience (Construction/Real Estate experience preferred)
Team Player
Experience in a multiple-entity small office environment
Full-cycle accounting including Financial Statement preparation
Solid understanding of % of Completion Accounting
Working with external Accountants/Auditors
Deadline driven with strong attention to detail
Two or more years of experience as a manager
Two or more years of payroll experience
Strong Excel and MS Office skills
AIA billing (preferred)
Budgeting / Forecasting
Desired Experience and Skills:
Two or more years of Sage 100/Master Builder experience (recent)
Human Resources experience
Property Management/Self-storage industry accounting experience
Cash Management experience
Banking including loan draw submittals

Education:

Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance - required
