Full Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for Youth Development Program, delivery, evaluation- pre/post testing, etc. and meeting youth programmatic goals and objectives as specified in various grant requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Oversee all aspects of the Youth Development Program.
Create a safe, orderly, and nurturing environment for children.
Meet regularly with CEO and Program Manager to ensure compliance of all relevant contracts, grants, and agency data standards.
Supports the Program Manager with achieving operational goals and objectives.
Recruit, interview, select, and train interns and volunteers to tutor and mentor the children and teens.
Evaluate interns and volunteers progress at the end of each semester.
Assist with Thursday Suppers.
Record attendance, case note, and survey data in a timely manner, both electronically and in hard copy form.
Work with Executive Director, Program Manager and Case Manager to identify, apply to, and report progress for funding resources.
Assist with the development of new and existing relationships and ensure written linkages are established with all partners.
When necessary, represent Alternatives at relevant forums and community events.
Attend universities’ fieldwork days, workshops, volunteer fairs, and internship fairs each semester.
Regularly contact teachers of Thomas House students.
Meet quarterly or as needed with parent and child to review report cards and progress reports.
Monitor youth in the program to ensure that guidelines of the program are followed
Coordinate Youth Educational Presentations.
Drive company vehicle to shuttle residents to and from off-site events, using safe driving skills and maintaining trip records.
Complete monthly service log.
Answer phones and correspond to emails.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Involved in Collaborative Meetings.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Use initiative in assessing and responding to shelter’s changing needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job supervises, interns, and volunteers.

Preferred:

Bilingual

Education and/or Experience:

Four year college or university program degree or certificate; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
