Major Duties

Under general supervision of the Director of College Advising (DCA), the Coordinator of EOP and College Advising Services:

Provides comprehensive academic advisement for all students assigned to College of Arts, Media, and Communication (CAMC) Student Services Center/Educational Opportunity Program (SSC/EOP).
Coordinates activities related to monitoring EOP student transition and academic progress including, but not limited to, follow-up with students and responses to faculty alerts.
Assists the DCA and Student Services Professional IV (SSP IV) with the coordination, planning, and implementation of first year advisement for all incoming first-time freshmen and transfers.
Represents the SSC/EOP satellite and CAMC at on and off-campus events, recruitment activities, and on university committees.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field.
Upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related, is preferred.
Equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience; including one year in Student Services preferred.
A Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of academic advisement practices and student development principles.
Ability to analyze student records and recommend appropriate academic actions.
Skill in developing student success plans and intervention strategies.
Ability to coordinate programs and manage multiple advising initiatives.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse student populations.
Ability to interpret and apply university policies and procedures.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
Classification: 3084 / SSP III/ Grade 1
The anticipated HIRING RATE is $5540 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $5,540 - $7,893 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.
This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
