Why does the job exist?

The Behavioral Health Workforce / Training Program Coordinator will:

Identify and promote promising training practices among New Mexico's Behavioral Health (BH) and related service systems;

Develop and implement training strategies;

Identify, coordinate and track trainings in management and leadership skills, treatment and screening approaches including evidence-based best approaches and integrated care, including providers supporting the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA);

Assign special projects which include contract and grant, implementation and oversight.

How does it get done?

The Behavioral Health Workforce / Training Program Coordinator is responsible for:

Synthesizing and distributing recommendations on strategies for improving the quality and relevance of program trainings;

Convening expert panels to identify best practices in training development;

Identifying innovation in training development through national searches for innovative training practices, with reviews of these practices by a panel of experts;

Identifying strategies and tactics for overcoming the obstacles to improving training development practices;

Disseminating information to stakeholders about best practices, and innovative strategies.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Must obtain a Defensive driving certification.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some travel.
