Full Job Description

University Park Country Club (UPCC ) is seeking a Staff Accountant who has a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in accounting.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through the preparation of Company’s reports and statements. Primarily, maintains the financial records of the business. Primary responsibilities will include member billing.

Accounting Responsibilities:

General Ledger:

· Performs weekly review of the general ledger to ensure proper coding of invoices, journal entries, etc.

· Records month-end adjusting entries

· Prepares and reviews monthly financial statements.

· Prepare detailed variance analysis reports and summaries of expenses for management, highlighting significant findings and providing actionable insights.

· Assists in reconciling all amounts on the balance sheet to ensure proper classification of transactions.

· Prepares and submits documentation to auditors as requested.

· Reviews monthly sales and use tax and files monthly returns.

· Reconcile cash sheets with the bank to ensure all transactions are recorded properly and all transactions are processed through credit card(s).

· Investigates failed transactions; liaison between Club and credit card processors.

· Performs record adjustments to inventory, sets up and maintains spreadsheets, researches and corrects issues related to inventory COGS.

· Fixed Assets: Maintains the FAS database and records entries for acquisitions and dispositions.

o Ensure the Capital Reserve Study is updated to reflect all changes, including new assets and adjustments to replacement costs.

o Tags new assets for tracking.

Member Billing Services:

· Processes membership packets (add new members/edit existing ones).

· Processes payments (credit cards, checks, and ACH).

· Records charges and makes adjustments to member billing accounts.

· Processes monthly billing for dues and late fees.

· Sends out monthly statements.

· Reconciles membership counts.

Salary - Contingent upon work experience.
