Position Overview
Access Granted Now, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, and highly motivated Registered Behavior Technicians to provide behavioral support to children and adolescents living in our trauma-informed residential program.
Access Granted Now is a Joint Commission-accredited and Florida DCF-licensed residential provider serving youth who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, placement instability, exposure to domestic violence, trafficking risk factors, and complex emotional or behavioral challenges.
We are expanding our clinical and behavioral services as part of our Florida Medicaid enrollment and ongoing efforts to obtain Behavioral Qualified Residential Treatment Program status.
The RBT will work under the ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and collaborate with therapists, case managers, nursing staff, residential staff, educators, and program leadership. This position is well suited for an RBT who wants to use behavior-analytic skills in a mission-driven residential setting while helping youth develop emotional regulation, communication, coping, social, and independent-living skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior-support and treatment protocols developed by the supervising BCBA.
- Provide direct one-to-one and small-group behavioral support to assigned youth.
- Collect accurate, objective, and timely behavioral data.
- Document services, interventions, youth responses, progress, and significant behavioral events.
- Implement reinforcement systems, skill-acquisition programs, coping strategies, and prevention supports.
- Help youth strengthen communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, daily-living, and problem-solving skills.
- Support youth during residential routines, educational activities, recreation, community outings, appointments, and other assigned program activities.
- Recognize behavioral triggers, early warning signs, and environmental factors that may affect youth behavior.
- Use positive, trauma-responsive, developmentally appropriate, and least-restrictive interventions.
- Follow behavior-support plans, safety plans, treatment plans, and clinical recommendations consistently.
- Assist youth with practicing replacement behaviors and healthy coping strategies.
- Respond appropriately to aggression, elopement risk, property destruction, emotional dysregulation, self-injurious behavior, noncompliance, and other complex behaviors.
- Provide calm, supportive assistance during behavioral escalation and crisis situations.
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect each youth’s privacy, dignity, rights, and confidentiality.
- Communicate behavioral observations and concerns promptly to the supervising BCBA and appropriate members of the treatment team.
- Participate in supervision, competency assessments, team meetings, clinical staffings, and required training.
- Accept coaching and implement corrective feedback from the supervising BCBA.
- Assist with generalization of skills across the residential home, school, community, and family settings.
- Work collaboratively with direct-care staff without directing or independently changing clinical protocols.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other reportable concerns in accordance with Florida law and organizational policy.
- Follow all DCF, Medicaid, Joint Commission, HIPAA, BACB, and organizational requirements.
- Perform other duties consistent with the RBT role and the needs of the program.
Required Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Behavior Technician certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to receive ongoing supervision from an assigned BCBA.
- Ability to implement written behavioral protocols with accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to collect and document behavioral data objectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during behavioral escalation or crisis situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to pass all required DCF, Medicaid, organizational, and Level II background screenings.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
- Willingness to complete all required orientation, trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, abuse reporting, and residential-services training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral science, education, human services, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience working as an RBT.
- Experience working with children or adolescents.
- Experience in residential treatment, foster care, child welfare, schools, behavioral health, juvenile justice, or community-based services.
- Experience supporting youth with trauma histories or complex emotional and behavioral needs.
- Experience implementing behavior-intervention plans and skill-acquisition programs.
- Experience collecting behavioral data and completing electronic documentation.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, attachment, adverse childhood experiences, or positive behavior support.
- Experience addressing aggression, elopement, property destruction, self-injury, or other high-risk behaviors.
Important Scope-of-Practice Expectations
The RBT will work under the direction and ongoing supervision of a qualified BCBA. The RBT will not independently:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments
- Develop or substantially modify behavior plans
- Diagnose behavioral or mental health conditions
- Determine clinical treatment goals
- Provide psychotherapy
- Change approved treatment protocols without BCBA authorization
- Practice without required supervision
The RBT is responsible for communicating observations, following approved protocols, collecting data, and requesting clinical guidance whenever a youth’s needs fall outside the established treatment plan.
Schedule
Full-time and part-time schedules may be available.
Because this is a residential program, applicants should be available for one or more of the following:
- Day shifts
- Afternoon or evening shifts
- Weekend shifts
- School-day support
- Community activities and appointments
- Occasional schedule adjustments based on youth needs
Regular and dependable attendance is essential.
Compensation
Recommended Indeed range: $22-$28 per hour, depending on:
- RBT experience
- Education
- Residential or child-welfare experience
- Experience with complex behaviors
- Availability
- Medicaid service-delivery experience
