Full Job Description

Tall Order, a new neighborhood cocktail bar and restaurant just outside Inman Square, is hiring a lead line cook with late-night availability to join their kitchen team.

Duties include:

-Maintaining mise en plac of the station

-Communicating with the chef about the station prep needs.

-Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.

-Leading one to two shifts per week.

-Small knife work tasks like chopping herbs and vegetables

-Maintain a clean work environment and ensure food safety procedures are followed

-Understand the tickets and allergy protocols with food preparation

-Assisting with other prep tasks as they are needed by the chef and teammates

-Ensure all dishes are plated attractively and served at the correct temperature.

Requirements

-Must have weekend late-night availability

-Must be able to work the grill or the fryer station

-Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain standards

-Positive attitude and teamwork

Compensation

-Competitive hourly and an equal share of the kitchen appreciation fee.

Physical Demands”

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a device, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in a restaurant environment with moderate to loud noise level. The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, standing for 8 to 10 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during work hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
