Job Summary

The Work Study Student will support the Department of Art as a Gallery Assistant on the Savannah Campus beginning Fall 2026.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Employment is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities

Assists the Gallery Director in all duties associated with exhibitions at the Armstrong campus art gallery
Opens and/or closes the gallery as needed
Helps with exhibition installation and receptions
Helps maintain the gallery as needed, and acts as general attendant when the gallery is open

Shift Specifics

Up to 12 hours per week
Flexible with schedule of availability
Shifts available Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM
Availability once a month for reception hours, 5 PM - 7 PM

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications

Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Familiarity with art handling
Familiarity with power tools
Experience with basic computer skills (word processing)

Proposed Salary

$12.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
