Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometrist, where you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive eye care and vision solutions to diverse patient populations. Your expertise in ophthalmology, patient care, and optical services will ensure patients receive accurate diagnoses, effective treatments, and personalized guidance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your physiology and anatomy knowledge while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will be responsible for conducting eye examinations, managing medical records, and supporting the overall health and well-being of our patients through expert eye care.

Duties

Perform thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function
Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions related to ophthalmology, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and other ocular diseases
Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses tailored to individual patient needs, ensuring optimal vision correction
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of optical devices while addressing their questions with clear communication skills
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on complex cases requiring specialized intervention
Support sales efforts by recommending appropriate optical products and assisting patients in selecting frames or lenses that suit their lifestyle and preferences

Experience

Proven experience in optometry practice with a strong background in ophthalmology principles and procedures
Hands-on optical experience with fitting glasses, contact lenses, and understanding of medical terminology related to eye health
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe clinical practice
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and medical coding practices
Experience working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) is a plus for providing comprehensive family eye care
Demonstrated commitment to patient care excellence with strong customer service skills and attention to detail
Ability to interpret vital signs related to ocular health assessments and maintain compliance with HIPAA standards
