The Red Lion Inn located in Cohasset, MA, offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an experienced, Restaurant Dishwasher to join us.

Executive Chef

Job Summary

The Restaurant Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas. This position plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Dishwashing & Sanitation

Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment.
Properly sort, stack, and store clean items in designated areas.
Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized according to health department standards.
Inspect cleaned items for cleanliness and rewash as necessary.

Kitchen Cleanliness

Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, floors, walls, and kitchen work areas.
Empty trash and recycling containers throughout shifts and at closing.
Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment as directed.

Support Kitchen Operations

Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Organize storage areas and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
Help kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when needed.
Transport supplies and equipment throughout the property as required.

Safety & Compliance

Follow all company policies, food safety regulations, and sanitation procedures.
Properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Report maintenance issues, broken equipment, or safety concerns immediately.
Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting.
Ability to work in hot, wet, and humid conditions.

Schedule Requirements

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Ability to work overtime as needed during busy periods.

Performance Expectations

Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area.
Meet sanitation and food safety standards at all times.
Support efficient kitchen operations through timely completion of assigned tasks.
Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
